Addiction Treatment and Addiction Therapy

Withdrawal & Early Recovery Support

Withdrawal & Early Recovery Support

Psychiatric Breakthrough provides individualized, evidence-based care for substance use and behavioral addictions. Our approach recognizes that recovery is complex and requires more than addressing the addiction alone. Treatment plans are tailored to each individual’s clinical needs, history, and goals.

Our services may include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric and addiction evaluation
  • Individualized treatment planning following extended initial assessments
  • Medication-assisted treatment, including naltrexone and extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol), Bupropion, buprenorphine, gabapentin, etc., when clinically appropriate
  • Routine drug and alcohol testing, including ETG testing
  • Ongoing psychiatric monitoring and follow-up care

During the evaluation process, we consider a broad range of factors, including medical history, mental health conditions, social environment, support systems, and readiness for change. Care is provided in a respectful, nonjudgmental setting with an emphasis on compassion, clinical integrity, and long-term stability.

Withdrawal & Early Recovery Support

The early stages of recovery can feel overwhelming, and withdrawal symptoms may be uncomfortable or, in some cases, medically significant. Our role is to help patients navigate this phase as safely and comfortably as possible, with careful monitoring and compassionate support.

When clinically appropriate, outpatient treatment may be an option. Care during this phase may include:

  • A thorough assessment to determine medical safety and appropriate level of care
  • Medications prescribed to help ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce discomfort
  • Close follow-up visits to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed
  • Ongoing guidance and reassurance throughout the early stages of recovery

This initial phase of care is often an important first step toward stabilization and recovery. We work alongside each patient in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment, focusing on safety, comfort, and forward progress.

Buprenorphine is a well-established medication used to help manage opioid use disorder by reducing cravings and easing withdrawal symptoms. When used appropriately, it can support stability and allow individuals to focus on recovery, treatment engagement, and rebuilding daily routines.

Care may include:

  • A comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessment to determine appropriateness
  • Careful initiation of buprenorphine in a monitored and supportive setting
  • Ongoing maintenance treatment when clinically indicated
  • Regular follow-up visits to assess progress, safety, and overall well-being

Our licensed physicians provide buprenorphine treatment as part of a thoughtful, individualized care plan. Treatment decisions are made collaboratively, with an emphasis on safety, comfort, and long-term stability.

Symptoms of Depression

Medication Support & Ongoing Care

Medication Support & Ongoing Care

Depression involves more than temporary sadness and may affect emotional, cognitive, and physical functioning. While periods of low mood can be a normal response to life events, depression is more likely when symptoms persist and interfere with daily life.

Common symptoms of depression may include:

  • Persistent feelings of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed
  • Changes in appetite or weight
  • Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or excessive sleeping
  • Fatigue or low energy
  • Difficulty concentrating, thinking clearly, or making decisions
  • Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
  • Irritability, restlessness, or agitation
  • Unexplained physical symptoms such as aches, pains, or digestive issues
  • Social withdrawal or feelings of loneliness, even when others are present
  • Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

Because symptoms and severity vary, a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is important to identify contributing factors, rule out underlying medical conditions, and determine the most appropriate course of treatment.
